Aimee Bebeau, Pacific Northwest Potter

We are excited to display the works of local Pacific Northwest ceramicist, Aimee Bebeau, in the SPARKLEBARN gallery!

Aimee's work embraces asymmetry as a representation of natural variations, rather than imperfection, as expressions of the natural world’s geometry to be celebrated. How seed pods or river stones, for instance, will have one side slightly larger, or more curved, indented or higher than the other. And yet they are still beautifully whole. She finds this fluidity while working and a little wobble to the form create a unique beauty.

Aimee specializes in coil building which gives her a sense of freedom to build in any angle. Directing the structure of the form and simultaneously allowing the asymmetry to develop naturally. Through the movement of her hand, she transfers the energy of emotions out of her body through. Building up as a way of letting go.
